After 6 months of loaning an Ebike from work I decided to finally buy my own through the Cycle to Work Scheme. Spent week s deliberating over which brand to choose, when I stumbled across the Hygge Aarhus on the Decathlon site. The Aarhus ticked all the boxes, reliable components, good range, quality build and a very competitive price. I ordered on a Friday and received it the following Tuesday. Just the handlebars and pedals that needed fitting and I was away. My loan bike was a Haibike and whilst it was a good well made bike, something's let it down. One of these was the inability to ride without any assist. Not so with the Hygge Aarhus. With the Aarhus I could ride on the flat and on slight inclines very easily. My commute to and from work is very hilly, with several long climbs each way, the Aarhus sales up these hills and a very undulating round trip, (with 2 packed panniers) of 20 miles leaves me with a half-full battery by the time I get home, comparable with the Haibike. I've covered 400 miles since taking delivery in early November with no issues at all. After a puncture on the way home I switched to some puncture resistant tyres. Not a reflection on the supplied tyres, more on the thorny woodland path, where I've had 2 previous punctures.
In summary I would recommend the Aarhus, well built, relatively light compared to some others, nice stable comfortable ride, good range, excellent up steep hills and muddy unmade tracks and excellent service from the distributor.
